Government Disrespects Judiciary: Historic Ruling on Niqab and Personal Freedoms in Egypt

In light of the Egyptian government's decision to ban the wearing of the niqab in schools, in violation of the constitution, the law, Islamic Sharia principles, and even personal freedoms,

This is a historic ruling issued by the State Council Court..

📌 The text of the ruling states:

"It is not permissible to ban the wearing of the niqab completely, as this contradicts the personal freedom guaranteed by the constitution.

It is permissible, when necessary for public safety, to verify the identity of a woman in accordance with the requirements of public security or to receive education and various services, or for other considerations required by daily life, and this should be done by women of her own gender."

🔴 The ruling then addressed the niqab and stated:

"The law does not prohibit it, and tradition does not deny it. This means that the niqab remains a matter of personal freedom. Therefore, it cannot be banned absolutely or completely prohibited for women."
